Victoria Brooks Expert in Beauty Therapy

Victoria Brooks
Beauty Therapy Expert
Victoria began her career in the beauty industry at 20. Training as a Beauty Therapist & gaining an IHBC diploma & NVQ level 3. She went on to work in various salons whilst setting up her own business.
“ I was fortunate to work with many exclusive products and excellent ranges, Clarins, Guinot, Susan Molyneux & Decleor. I knew from the start that I wanted my own business and within 6 months it was up & running. For about a year I continued working very part time in salons but then decided to take the plunge & go it alone. It was a wonderful experience. It grew very quickly & I found myself working a 6 day week & often 12 hour days to purely cope with demand.”
Training was always important to Victoria who continued to develop her business with new, innovative treatments. In 1997, she married Peter & reigned in her business a little so they could have more time together. Shortly after she became a Senior Sales Director for a skin care and make up company, which led her to travel the world & develop her training skills.
“I was still quite shy, but this opportunity developed me & brought out my strengths as a trainer. It was good to be able to pass on my knowledge & experience.”
In 2003, the couple had their daughter, Imogen. Victoria decided to continue working in a part time capacity so as to care for her little girl. In 2005, Victoria took a career break for a few months & then along with her good friend, Melinda Lane, founded the Make My Day Academy.
“I think, outside of having Imogen, this has been what I have been most proud of. I love this industry & wouldn’t want to do anything else. Melinda & I are thrilled to be passing on our expertise and love empowering our students to step out and began their own businesses. Make up has always been my passion & being surrounded by it & working with such a dear friend is simply perfect.”
Victoria has a passion too for writing, so it seemed only natural that her two loves, the beauty industry & writing, be paired up. She now writes for the MMDAUK website & adores researching new products & treatments.
“Our aim with this website magazine, is to keep our WebStudio users up to date with the latest information in the industry. Alongside the training programs at the Academy, we will keep you connected to what is going on in YOUR industry. We aim to grow this magazine to encompass all facets of the industry from make up to hairdressing and from holistic therapies to business boosting suggestions”.
